CL Motorsport is set to take part in the second round of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, which will unfold this weekend at the legendary Spa Francorchamps circuit.
On the 7.004 km track located near Francorchamps—a town within the municipality of Stavelot and bordering the municipality of Spa in the Ardennes—the Italian squad will field two experienced drivers: Michael Belov and Macéo Capietto.
Belov, 23, and Capietto, 19, both bring valuable FRECA experience and will represent a key asset for CL Motorsport as it continues its adaptation to the Formula Regional series.
David Li, CL Motorsport’s Team Owner Representative, commented:
“Michael and Macéo will allow us to keep progressing in our development plan within the Formula Regional Championship. Despite their young age, they’ve both built up solid experience over the years. I’m confident their contribution will prove to be a major advantage for our team.”
Capietto and Belov share a common sentiment when speaking about Spa:
“Racing with CL Motorsport at such a historic track like Spa Francorchamps is undoubtedly a great opportunity. The team is young, but has a clear roadmap to reach the front-running positions. We’re excited to be part of this project.”
The event will officially kick off on Friday, May 16 with two Collective Test sessions (09:49 and 14:29), followed by Qualifying 1 (from 10:20) and Race 1 (14:20) on Saturday. Sunday will feature Qualifying 2 (from 09:30) and Race 2 (16:15).
