CL Motorsport continued its learning path in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine with another solid outing, this time on the technical layout of Circuit Zandvoort, home to Round 3 of the series.

Michael Belov was once again behind the wheel for the team based near Lake Garda, tackling the 4.259 km Dutch circuit nestled in the dunes by the North Sea. The combination of unpredictable weather, shifting winds, and Zandvoort’s narrow, high-speed layout made the weekend especially tricky for drivers and engineers.
In Qualifying 1, Belov secured P7 in Group A, placing him 14th on the Race 1 starting grid. With a consistent pace and clean execution, he managed to climb the field and finish just outside the Top 10 in 11th position.
Qualifying 2 proved more complex, with Belov ending up 11th in Group A and starting Race 2 from P22. Despite pushing throughout the race, the tight nature of the circuit limited overtaking opportunities, and he concluded the second heat in 20th place.
Michael Belov commented:
“Zandvoort is one of the most demanding tracks on the calendar; very fast, very technical, and with no room for mistakes. The changing wind direction and low grip conditions made the car unpredictable, especially in Sector 2. We tried different setups across the sessions, and I feel we collected useful data for the upcoming rounds.”
David Li, CL Motorsport’s Team Owner Representative, added:
“Zandvoort has very different demands compared to Spa, but we’re seeing steady growth in our performance and operational approach. Michael continues to be a reference in feedback and execution, and we’ll keep pushing to break into the Top 10 consistently.”
The team now heads into a short break before reconvening for Round 4, scheduled in the weekend of July 6th at the Hungaroring in Hungary.
