FIRST POINTS OF THE SEASON FOR CL MOTORSPORT AT THE HUNGARORING

CL Motorsport continued to make strides in its Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine campaign, collecting its first points of the season in Round 4 at the Hungaroring.

Michael Belov and Zachary David returned to the cockpit for the team based near Lake Garda, tackling the twisty and technical layout just outside Budapest — a circuit known for its limited overtaking opportunities and intense physical demands.

In Race 1, Belov secured P16 at the flag after a tight midfield battle, with David following closely in P18. Both drivers showed solid pace but were ultimately limited by traffic and track position.

Sunday’s Race 2 delivered a key milestone: Belov capitalized on a clean start and strong race rhythm to charge up to 8th place – P7 at the end, scoring the team’s first points of the season. David once again showed consistent pace and brought the car home in P18.

Michael Belov commented: “Scoring points always feels good, especially on a track like the Hungaroring where it’s so hard to move forward. The team gave me a car that responded well in the second race, and we managed to make every lap count.”

Zachary David added: “We knew it would be a challenging weekend, but there are definitely positives to take. The race pace was encouraging and we’ll keep building from here.”

David Li, Team Owner Representative, concluded:
“We’re pleased to leave Budapest with our first points of the season. Both Michael and Zach continue to show determination and focus. We’ll keep refining our approach to maximize every opportunity as the season progresses.”

The team now looks ahead to Round 5, set to take place at Paul Ricard, as the second half of the season approaches.
