CL Motorsport continued its 2025 FRECA campaign at the iconic Circuit Paul Ricard, showing signs of progress and consistency throughout the weekend in Round 5 of the season.

Back in the car for the team based near Lake Garda, Michael Belov and Zachary David tackled the fast and flowing layout of Le Castellet — a circuit that demands precision, rhythm and adaptability across its high-speed sections and long straights.
In Qualifying 1, Belov impressed with a strong performance in Group A, placing P2 (P4 overall), while David set the 12th fastest time in the same group. Race 1 proved challenging, with both drivers battling in a tightly packed midfield; Belov eventually crossed the line in P11 very close to the top10, while David climbed to P18.

Saturday’s second qualifying session was tougher, with Belov and David taking P9 and P10 in Group A respectively (P18 and P20 overall). Race 2 saw both drivers fight hard once again, with David making up positions to finish P15 and Belov ending in P17 after a challenging race.
David Li, Team Owner Representative, concluded: “There were some encouraging signs this weekend at Paul Ricard, especially in terms of qualifying performance and overall race rhythm. We’ll regroup, analyze, and come back stronger for the next round.”
Michael Belov commented: “We started the weekend strong with a solid qualifying result and some good pace in Race 1. Race 2 was more difficult, but we’ve taken important data and experience from this round. We’ll keep working hard to convert our potential into results.”
Zachary David added: “This track always presents a unique challenge, and while we didn’t get the results we hoped for, there are clear improvements in our pace and consistency. We’re getting closer every weekend.”
CL Motorsport now shifts focus to Round 6, ready to keep pushing forward in the second half of the season.
