CL Motorsport closes Round 7 of the championship at Imola with two podiums and points
scored in every race.
Reno Francot and Jules Roussel set the pace from the first session and kept it all weekend, while René Lammers, in the car for a one off appearance, needed only a handful of laps to settle in and fight his way through the field.
CL Motorsport now heads to the championship finale at Hockenheim with real momentum behind it.
All three drivers made progress across the weekend on one of the toughest circuits on the
calendar. Lammers joined the team for his first weekend with CL Motorsport, and he made
an impression fast: he settled into the car within a few laps and built confidence race after
race.
Qualifying 1 set the tone for the weekend. Francot took P4 in his group, Roussel P6, and
Lammers P10 on his debut outing with the team. The pace carried straight into Race 1,
where Francot crossed the line P5 and Roussel P9, both turning their speed into points.
Race 2, the Sprint Race, produced the result of the round. Francot fought to the front and
took P3, his first podium of the weekend. Roussel followed close behind in P4. Lammers
drove through the field from the back, gaining position after position to finish P12, a strong
recovery for a driver still learning the car.
Sunday opened with Qualifying 2. Francot and Roussel both took P2 in their groups, setting
up another strong day for the team. Race 3 gave Francot his second podium of the weekend,
P3, while Roussel closed out the round in P5. Lammers ran a competitive pace of his own
until another car pushed him out of contention.
David Li, Team Coordinator at CL Motorsport, said: “It was a strong, productive weekend for
the whole team. Reno had excellent front-running pace and converted it into two podiums.
Jules made a step forward, consistently fast and scoring points in every race. René fit into
the team right away, and his drive through the field in Race 2 stood out. We leave Imola with
strong momentum and two trophies.”
CL Motorsport now turns to Hockenheim for the final round of the season.
