After scoring solid results in Budapest, CL Motorsport is set to tackle Round 5 of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, taking place this weekend at the Circuit Paul Ricard in the south of France.
The team continues with its two-driver lineup: Michael Belov, who remains a cornerstone of the program, and Zachary David who had good seasonal debut in Hungaroring.
At 5.842 km, Paul Ricard is one of the most distinctive circuits on the calendar, featuring long straights, technical corner combinations, and a variety of high-speed and low-speed sections. Its modern facilities and wide run-offs make it a strategic venue where tyre management and clean execution are often decisive.
David Li, CL Motorsport’s Team Owner Representative, commented:
“Budapest marked an important step forward for us, with Michael bringing home points. Paul Ricard presents a different type of challenge, but our objective remains clear: stay competitive and consistently inside the points. Michael and Zachary are working well together, and the whole team is focused on keeping up this positive trend.”
Michael Belov said: “Scoring points gave me a big confidence boost. Now I’m fully focused on adapting quickly to Paul Ricard and continuing to help the team progress. It’s a track that requires commitment and precision, and I’m excited to take on the challenge.”
Zachary David added: “We had a strong weekend in Hungary and the goal now is to build on that. I know Paul Ricard quite well, and if we get everything right from the first session, we can be competitive and aim for a double-points finish.”
