The fourth round of the FIA Formula Regional European Championship at Monza delivered a weekend full of unpredictable races, incidents and penalties, making it one of the most challenging events of the season.
Despite the difficult circumstances, CL Motorsport once again demonstrated the speed and potential of its drivers, consistently fighting at the front throughout qualifying and showing the pace required to compete for top positions.
Qualifying highlighted the team’s competitiveness, with Jules Roussel securing an impressive P2 in his group for Qualifying 2, while Reno Francot claimed P6 and newcomer Kyuho Lee P7. Earlier in the weekend, Francot qualified P9 in his group, Roussel P10 and Lee P12.
Race 1 rewarded the team with valuable championship points as Francot crossed the line in eighth place, while Roussel finished P14 and Lee P16 after a closely contested race.
Race 2 proved far more complicated. Francot received a post-race penalty that dropped him to P21, Roussel’s race ended prematurely after being caught in a racing incident, and Lee recovered well to finish P12.
The final race of the weekend brought another frustrating outcome despite encouraging pace. Francot was once again classified P21 following a penalty, Roussel produced an excellent recovery drive to secure P6, while Lee finished P24 after receiving a penalty of his own.
Although the final results did not fully reflect the team’s performance, CL Motorsport leaves Monza encouraged by the speed shown across all three drivers. The weekend confirmed that the team has the pace to consistently fight inside the top positions, with stronger results well within reach as the championship continues.

“Monza was certainly one of the most challenging weekends we’ve experienced this season. There were several incidents and penalties that prevented us from converting our pace into the results we deserved. However, the positives are clear: all three drivers showed strong speed throughout the weekend and proved we can fight at the front. We’ll take the lessons learned, keep working hard and come back even stronger for the next round.”
CL Motorsport now shifts its full focus to the next championship event, determined to transform its promising pace into the results the team knows it is capable of achieving.
